Galatians 2:20: My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (NLT).
I cannot overemphasize the importance of this. We need to realize that when we became believers who we were became nonexistent; it was crucified, killed, destroyed, and we were raised again into new life. The new life we live is simply based on the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, and the Holy Spirit is Christ himself living in us, and he teaches us to live out this new life we have received. “Christ himself lives in me” and this is a fact; not dependent on how I feel. It is simply because the real me is my spirit, and my old spirit is now transformed and has literally become Christ; this applies to every believer on the planet.
So how does Christ teach us to live himself through us, it’s simple. Let’s look at the ‘b’ part of Galatians 2:20. We live in our earthly bodies by trusting and having faith in Jesus. The real you that is your spirit is perfect, but still has to live in this earthly body. To do this peacefully, you need to keep trusting in Him who saved you, and we trust Him by remembering daily his wonderful love displayed on the cross. Never stop trusting, if you don’t trust then He cannot live himself through you, because trust is you giving him permission to express himself, and when you remember His love, it always teaches you to trust.
Know that there’s no more you, you is transformed. Let Christ now live himself through you in every area, whether it’s in school, at work or even when it comes to sin, the solution is never worry, but trust in His never ending love.
