“Am no longer a slave to fear”
someone reminded me that I was supposed to serve God with fear and trembling. The reason was it seemed I had become too familiar with God and the kind person didn’t want me disrespecting God or his personality.
I giggled and asked what the Bible said in Romans 8:15.
He responded; “Romans: 8:15? Well it says, and from his Bible read: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
I smiled and told him that was the reality I walk in. Just as I would run to hug my earthly father after months of not seeing him. I would run to God because He is always waiting for me. Just as I would eat my fathers meat without his permission and still have the confidence to smile at him, and he also smile back, so also would I with my Heavenly father.
“Okay, let’s look at it this way”, I continued, “was Christ a slave to God?”
He responded “no”.
“But then the Bible also says in Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
So why are you trying to separate the unseperatable.” “From the book of Mark chapter 10, verse 6, But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8. And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10. And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. 11. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 12. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.”
“He was not just talking about a man and a woman’s marriage, He was also talking about the marriage between Christ and the church, and we are the church.”
“We can’t serve two masters, and we are called to serve God as Sons and Daughters ,that’s the difference between the time of Moses and the time of Christ.
At the mount of transfiguration, Moses the Law , Elijah the prophet and Christ Grace appeared and the glory of one overshadowed the others, and it was Christ’s; a voice from heaven was heard saying, This is my beloved Hear him.”
“Now the fact that Christ was made the bridge, means I can now go to God as a son or as a daughter.”
Well my friend left with a new perspective, he saw that he wasn’t a servant compelled or forced or punished to deliver, but a Son who joyfully, with all gladness and Zeal acts according to his Father, who worketh in him to will and to do according to his great pleasures (Philippians 2:12-13)😉.
