How new is the new life?

Key Scriptures

Gal 5:16-26

Gal 5:16  [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Gal 5:18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Gal 5:20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Gal 5:21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal 5:26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

2Cor 5:16-19

2Cor 5:16  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more.

2Cor 5:17  Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Cor 5:18  And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2Cor 5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

You know what it’s like when one gets a new job, bigger pay checks and an official car, in some cases a new house too. That’s a crazy upgrade. In the same way, the new life of Christ has benefits, you see these benefits have always been freely given to us, benefits of peace of mind and abundance, but what’s different is, we have the knowledge of these gifts. Imagine having so much money stacked up somewhere in an account for you and you have no idea. So knowledge makes the difference in this new life. We are all made in the image of Christ and hence we possess his nature and there is no condemnation from God based on what you did, so let there be no self-condemnation. This new nature is not dependent on the old nature, you see, the old nature was of sin but this nature does not battle with sin and when the flesh rises up, the spirit rises stronger. This new nature is devoid of pain, anger, fear, lust…….. But this new nature radiates the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance……..This new life walks in the spirit. So now that you have received Christ, WALK IN HIM!!

#Pray– Dear God I have accepted your love, forgiveness and nature. Please increase my knowledge and awareness of you that all I would not judge myself but accept the beautiful life that you have planned for me.
