Who is Jesus To You
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
I love the body of Christ. I love the brethren. However, I will not build my relationship with God based on who people tell me He is. There is a danger of us walking with Him based on a secondhand account we have of Him. Now am I saying its bad to learn about Jesus and the things of the kingdom from other believers? No, that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying you have to know Him for himself. Simply because nobody can help you know Him better than you can know Him by yourself. If you do know Him for yourself, it gives you a certain confidence and persuasion of who He is to you and in your life. Paul knew Him personally. That is why he was able to say with all boldness in 1 Timothy 1: 12: “I know whom I have believed.” Paul didn’t say he knows who someone told him about, no. He said I know who I (I myself) have believed. Know Him for yourself, so you can always walk confidently in the knowledge of who He is to you. Then, you can boldly answer the question “whom say ye that I am?”.
#pray Lord Jesus, I desire to know you daily teach me to know you and to fellowship with you, through prayer, the word, even while I study this devotional, help me know you more daily.
