You’re Better Off Knowing More
2 Peter 1:2-3 KJV
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Knowledge is and will continually be advantageous to those who acquire it. The usefulness of knowledge in your day-to-day activities is very important. We see in our key verse today that grace and peace is multiplied in our lives the more we know. It’s basically saying that the more we know about the kingdom of God, the more access we have in His kingdom. This doesn’t mean that He hasn’t given us everything we need, because we see in verse 3 that His divine power has given us all things “through the knowledge of him”. This basically means that God has given us everything we’ll ever need in life, and that these provisions He has made can only be accessed by knowing them. It is only by knowing the functions and capabilities of your mobile phone that you’ll be able to best utilize it. So the more you know about the kingdom of God, the better of you’ll be. The apostles understood the importance of knowing. They said in Acts 6:4 ” we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word”. They didn’t say they’ll give themselves to it sometimes, but continually. For them, it was a constant thing to do. We also see in Luke 4:16 that it was the custom of Jesus on earth to go to the synagogue to engage Himself in study of the scriptures. Engage His word daily.
#Pray Father reveal the truth of your word to me as I engage it daily and give me understanding of your kingdom
