Trust and Obey, period
Deu6:3-Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
-And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set the on high above all nations of the earth
-All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God
Growing up in African homes, the importance of obedience cannot be overemphasized. In fact you hear sayings like “obey before complain” which I always found funny, don’t get me wrong, I was an obedient child, well, most of the time, but I could see how it meant obeying blindly, without even asking questions or wanting to know the end result. The same should be with God. He talks to us through scriptures, or through those little voices in our heads, and it may not seem to make sense sometimes or agree with our logic but we should learn to obey without complain because at the end of the day he wants the best for us and I mean this; God wants the ultimate best for us even more than we want for ourselves. Remember when God told Abraham to offer Isaac, that must have been hard but Abraham obeyed and look how it turned out. We can see from the above scriptures that obedience leads to the fulfillment of his promises. Our ability to obey God should be beyond our dreams, temporary needs and desires. Doing the will of God has long-term results. Just trust and Obey!
#Pray– Lord please help me to constantly hear you and the will to obey you because you want the best for me. Amen>
