HOW YOU CAN FREELY RECEIVE ALL OF GODS BLESSINGS
One question I get asked a lot is how to receive from God, how you can say a prayer that actually results in an answer.
A lot of people think there’s some mystical thing that needs to be done, or some heavy task that needs to be accomplished, but the truth is all it takes is something really simple. Remember what Jesus says about his methods;
Mathew 11:29 – 30
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
So just have it at the back of your mind that Jesus isn’t trying to get you to hurt your back before you receive from Him.
So in my quest for answers, I stumbled upon the story of Joshua in the bible, and this opened my eyes to how we actually receive from God. Now am not saying this is the only way, I mean it’s not rigid, and people relate with God in their own unique ways; God is really dynamic, but based on what I’ve seen in scripture this is one sure way to receive from Jesus.
So the story revolves around Joshua the brave boy who goes to scout the land of Canaan and comes back with a positive report. Now as simple as this act is, it earns him a lot of blessing and he ends up receiving a land though he wasn’t originally supposed to. Interesting isn’t it…well keep reading.

So, this passage reveals some really amazing truths that I was shocked to learn myself. Joshua was supposed to share land among the tribes of Israel, but then, we see Caleb who isn’t even among the tribes receiving a portion for himself. He makes reference to when he went to scout the Canaan land, and came back with a faith report; which prompted Moses to give him a portion of land.
Now, if we remember clearly, the two parties that went to scout the lands came back and told the truth. While one saw the giants and proclaimed defeat by their ability, the other (Caleb) saw the giants, but from the angle of Gods ability. He saw victory, and in the end, received a land; not necessarily from Moses, but from God.
To receive from God, we need to learn to see things from the perspective of Gods ability. See strength in your situations, and be confident He can overcome for you, and He will. The strength Jesus has is all you need; learn to see life through it, and you’ll always see and receive victory.
