Why you should do the right things at the right time
Luke 10:42 – There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
So many activities tend to take a lot of our time, so many of these activities seem to be really good and of great impact, but may not be of good use as at the time it is being done. Looking at our scripture, Martha appeared to be doing just the right thing, but in the end, it was simply an activity that at that time was going to hinder her from receiving what God wanted her to receive. Was the activity wrong, no; but it was simply misplaced, and mistimed.
Many people fail to really understand God because their priorities are misplaced. They focus so much on the ephemeral and things that don’t matter, than on actually trying to know God. Some people attach a lot of importance to relics or mantles, and yet ignore the very person with the ability to give life (Jesus); and He has opened up Himself for us to freely receive.
Sometimes, something as good as being a worker in church is fantastic; but if it hinders your relationship with God, then your priorities need to be checked because Jesus needs your attention more than any other thing.
#Pray Father, my desire is that I am in your perfect will, every day. Lord, help me to always put my priorities straight, amen
