Don’t Live For People, But Don’t Live For Yourself Either

Key Scripture

Tit 2:12 -Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Tit 2:13 -Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Col 4:6-Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

We all have people we “know” and by “know” I mean either close up or have little knowledge from a distance. And sometimes we admire these people, the reason some of us really love celebrities. Why? Because we see something we like. In the same way, we have people around who admire us even when we do not know or have not been told, crazy I know, I am saying this because someone walked up to me and said “you inspire me” which I found funny as I had no idea what I had said or done, my point is, our actions and words are seen and heard by others, basically, they are not ours alone. Why not make it inspiring? Why not be that awesome example? Someone is always looking and learning and you might be completely unaware thereby becoming an oblivious blessing.

So just ask yourself, what am I known for? Good or bad. How much of an impact am i? What do I represent? What do my words and actions tell about me? As much as we should always be ourselves, whether we know anyone is watching or not, we should be the best version of who God has called us to be.

Everyone loves the best, everyone wants to be the best, the same way you would love to go to the market and buy the freshest vegetables. You do not have to be all high up or the most popular but in your circle, be a good example because whether we see or not, there is always someone watching; People can benefit. Be that good example!

Dear heavenly Father, help me to live the way you want me to and to be a good example to people around me and those far away. Help me to be a good inspiration and by my words and actions, people may be more drawn to you, amen.
