Don’t give up on people, God hasn’t

Key Scripture

James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The saying that we should “love our neighbour as ourselves” has been heard over and over, but do we really settle down to analyze its meaning? Jesus wasn’t mincing words when he said we should love others as ourselves, it means that just as we can’t give up on ourselves even when others choose to, so also should we never give up on those we find around us even though they seem like there is no hope for them.

Sometimes, we hope so much that someone changes or that someone gets better or that something should be different for someone and we pray and intercede on their behalf so much that it becomes our burden, but many times, especially when it seems like nothing seems to be changing or things even seem worse, we are tempted to give up on them. However, today God is telling us in the key scripture that we should pray for one another and we should do so fervently and it will avail much because we are righteous. God will never give up on anyone no matter how far they seem to have gone. He is the loving father and is always there for all his children, he will never give up on you or them so don’t, because as he is so has he made you here on earth, he will give you the grace to persevere. It’s a fruit of the spirit, Shalom.
