How To Know God

Key Scripture

Matthew 7:28 – 29

[28] When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, [29] because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

Notice there was a difference, a very clear difference in the way Jesus sounded, and the way the teachers of the religious law sounded. While the religious teachers sounded as men without authority, Jesus sounded like a man who wielded authority. Now I am very sure the teachers of religious law must have tried to sound high and lofty, but it honestly proved to be of no avail, but for Jesus there was this effortless command of authority.

The major difference here is knowledge…the knowledge of God each of them had. While Jesus knew God personally for who God is, the religious teachers were simply acting out a script they had read, whether they believed it or not. It all stems from a place of having the right knowledge of God. Truth is, your knowledge of God would always find a way to express itself, especially in periods of trials and challenges. Those who know their God will stand strong, while those who don’t would be doing all the wrong things expecting results.

! Important! How To Know God

I believe this is a call to know God personally and know God right. Not sentimentally, or based on what you have heard, or are forced to hear; not based on family or church or community traditions, but based on the word. Study it for yourself, gain insight and know your God. It would be of immense help to you for the rest of your life. If possible, invest in your quest for knowledge. Read devotionals like this daily to improve your knowledge of God. Read articles and listen to seasoned teachers of the word, there are a lot of them, just do your research.
