HOW TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS
Key Scripture
So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
Isn’t it wonderful how we’re so engrossed, overcome with zeal, filled with adrenaline to pursue a relationship, a ministry, a business, whereas God is just there asking “what’s the fuss all about”. Here was King David; a man after God’s heart, a mighty man of battle. This was a man whose achievements included countless scores of men who had died by his sword, enquiring of the Lord if he should chase after Amalekites, here he just shows us how to make the make the right decisions. Normally, a warrior like David with such great skills should just move with his troops and get the job done but David didn’t do that, this shows how heavily dependent on Gods directions David was. There are some decisions we’ll have to make in life whose outcome could make or mar the rest of our lives. Such decisions can’t be taken without consultation from a Higher Divine Being, someone who knows the outcome of all actions, and we are blessed to have God. So David asked God, and God gave him that assurance, in fact God told him he’ll recover all, all as in all.
Let’s do a little time traveling, there were some decisions we took in the past without seeking the face of God which turned out very badly. Also, there were some decisions we took after seeking the face of God which turned out wonderfully. Dearly beloved, let’s learn to enquire from God before taking decisions (that’s how to make the right decisions). It doesn’t have to be an hour’s prayer; the good thing is that all we have to do is ask, literally. Remember, God doesn’t speak only in a loud deep voice, He can also speak by giving you peace on a particular issue. He loves you and is waiting for you to ask Him for His opinion on that matter, God bless you.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, I know you have my best interest at heart, I surrender all to you, please help me to make the right decisions in life in Jesus name, Amen.
