Spiritual Growth Is Not a Religious Obligation
As Christians do we grow spiritually? What is spiritual growth? These are questions that need to be asked and well-answered. As Christians we do grow physically – we are all humans. Well, as Christians we do not just fulfill religious obligations but we yearn to know Christ, the son of God, who died and resurrected. And it’s not difficult knowing Christ too. Do you have a bible? If you do then you have all you need to know Christ and his fullness which is very present in every believer (Ephesians 1:23).
As Christians we love because Christ first loved us (1 John 4:19). We do whatever we do not because of what we are going to gain out of it but solely because we love Him and He loves us. Some ladys act so kind and go to church just so some good guy can fall for them and vice versa. However, it’s not meant to be so. Our intentions are taken into consideration. The bible tells us about Simon the magician, who wanted to buy the gospel with money. Although he believed, he had the wrong intentions (Acts 8:13-18). What we do as Christians is to grow in the love of Christ we have learned.
The law is no longer a guide, we now stand on grace and nothing but grace. Hence, we do not need to judge ourselves based on the law but let the spirit of God inside of you find expressions. God’s love is not conditional; he loves you as you are. Therefore, when we love, we love unconditionally. So, next time when you are about to pray, ask yourself, am I doing this because I am meant to or because of my love for Jesus. More than anything in the world, God desires to know you intimately and lead and direct you throughout the difficult times of life.
PRAYER
Father I love you because you first loved me.
