Believe What You Know
Key Scripture
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:12-Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and take away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Luke 8:13-They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luke 8:14-And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent
Knowledge is a powerful tool. It drives away ignorance and the more we know, the greater we can access. Imagine having an account stacked up somewhere in your name for you and not knowing about it and being in need, the place of knowledge cannot be overemphasized.
It is important. But it is not enough to just know a thing, it is even more important to believe what you know. Yes, it is possible to know something and still not believe it. For instance, the love of God; there are people who say “God loves me”, there are many songs to even back that up. One song I love “Jesus loves me, yes I KNOW, for the bible tells me so”. But do you believe it? Do you feel it? Do you accept it? Not disputing the essence of knowledge, as knowledge is power but believing the right knowledge is a thing of greater power.
Let us look at it in three steps. Firstly, you know, then you believe and you apply it in your daily life. Let your life be a true reflection of all that you are in Christ and all his promises towards you and your family, not just by what you heard or what you feel like it should be but by the way God has said it. So choose not to only know but believe in the reality of God and walk in it.
PRAYER
Dear Father I am thankful for the knowledge I have of you, thank you for not hiding yourself but constantly showing yourself. Help me to keep growing in that knowledge and help me to believe all that you say and all that you are. Give me the strength to believe even when things get hard. Amen.
