Galatians 1:9 – I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.
It’s quite funny how we have only one gospel and yet teachings vary. How possible? Paul the apostle was very angry whenever he found out that the different churches began to drift away from the gospel message. Paul states explicitly what the gospel is in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4, 2 Timothy 2:8. How then is it that this is not what we hear any more? People speak of several gospels now in our days. For instance, the “prosperity gospel!”.
Paul gives an advice on this in 1 Corinthians 15:33. He says that evil communication corrupts good manners. Hence, anyone that preaches or teaches contrary to the gospel should be avoided because we may think we are so strong but in reality, we are not. Also, if you are truly mature, you will identify the difference between good and evil (Hebrews 5:14).
So, we should humble ourselves and listen to gospel teachings only. Be careful of the things you listen to, they go a long way to shapening our perspective of God and they in one way or the other affect our relationship with Him afterwards.
Father in heaven, I grow in wisdom and revelation of who you are.
