Having a Better Mind and Body
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
Romans 12:1-I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2-And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 Corinthians 2:12-Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Corinthians 2:13- Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Thesolonnians 5:23-And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are made in the image and likeness of God .The spirit, soul and body may be different by definition and function, but the three do flow together and are all interconnected. We have been given eternal life as spirits but we have a soul which dwells in this human body. Everything Christ did was and is within our spirit, the soul is the gateway which channels things from the spirit to the body which is now seen and manifested.
That is why what we feed our soul is important because it will flow out to our human bodies. Our soul can be said to be made up of our emotions, will and intellect; truth be told, our actions are mostly as a result of those three factors. We can feed our soul rightly by believing in the reality of the spirit that Christ came and he died for us all irrespective of race or gender or mistakes in order to give us eternal life.
Also, by the renewal of our minds we feed our souls rightly, that is why the bible encourages us in proverbs 4:23 to guard our hearts for out of it are the issues of life, and by this we can see that there is a transference to the flesh which is the body. 1Corinthians 6:20 says we should glorify God in our body. Yes, we are meant to yield to the will of the Lord by doing what is pleasing to him by offering ourselves to him totally, that way we manifest rightly by fulfilling the purpose of God.
Sweet father thank you for everything you have done and for making me just like you. Help me live, act and think like you want me to. Teach me your ways. May I fulfill your plan for my life. Amen.
