AIDING GOD’S DESIRE FOR MEN
1 Timothy 2:3-4 ~ 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Romans 10:14 – How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not
believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not
heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
A careful observation of occurrences in the Old Testament to occurrences in the New Testament shows God’s earnest desire to see men saved. Even after Adam and Eve fell, God kept devising means to save man; from the sacrifice of animals to the final death of Christ Jesus, God desired the salvation of His children.
He knew that for us to fully live and fulfill our destinies here on earth, we needed to be saved.
2 Corinthians 5:19 says
“that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation”
this shows that everything God did was with the aim of saving man. Before I move forward, if you’re reading this and you’ve not become a believer yet, you may want to check out a couple of previous digests, simply scroll toward the bottom of the page and read the selection of digests from the “discover more” section, you’ll discover how easy it is, all you actually need to do is believe with your heart and confess Jesus with your mouth that He is Lord, that He died to save you from the power of sin and death.
Now, just as God has saved you, He’s also interested in the salvation of others and He needs us to partner with Him on this. As much as God desires men to be
saved, from the second key scripture, we can see there are some limitations
to these desires if men don’t yield themselves as vessels to be used by God for this. In previous digests, we’ve learnt that all believers are ministers of
God, reconciling men unto Him, so we need not be weary in preaching
this Gospel as it is the only means by which men will hear the word of
truth that is able to save their souls.
Dear Lord, give me the boldness to proclaim your word to men so that they may be saved, Amen.
