Every Believer Has a Ministry – What is it?
Key Scripture
2 Corinthians 5:18 – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Digest
The verse preceding our key verse says that whosoever is in Christ Jesus is a new creature and our key verse tells us that after God reconciled us to Himself, He gave us the ministry of reconciliation that we should reconcile others to Him through Jesus who is at work in us. We cannot help but preach this gospel. Before Jesus left this earth, He told us to go into the world and preach this gospel (Mark 16:15), and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). When you received Jesus and made Him your Lord and savior, it didn’t end there. You didn’t just receive Jesus so that you would be saved alone, no! When you received Him into your life, you were given a mandate that you, just as you’ve been saved, tell people about this Jesus, who saved you so that others who haven’t been saved will be saved as well.
The word “ministry” has been described as something only meant for Ministers or Pastors but we’ve seen from the verses highlighted in this digest that anyone who has been saved has been given a ministry by God. You don’t need a pulpit to be a minister, your social apps are good platforms for the work of ministry. Your life should also be an example of God’s grace and mercy to all, believers and unbelievers.
Dearly beloved, make a deliberate effort to reconcile all men to God from now henceforth.
#pray
Dear Lord, thank you for the strength and boldness to tell people about your love and grace which is able to save their lives, Amen.
