It’s Cool To Reverence God
Hebrews 5 : 7 – While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.
God is our Father, that’s one thing we must never forget; and He being our Dad, should be honored and reverenced. Jesus showed an awesome example. The Bible speaks about the “deep” reverence He had for God, and just like Jesus did, we should as well.
Having reverence for God is first done in the heart, acknowledging God as a Father, and leader, as well as the one who holds the key to our salvation. As with all matters of the heart however, reverence would also tell in our actions. In how dedicated we are to doing activities relating to God, and how we speak about Him to others. How we value meetings were God’s word is taught, and even in how we pray.
Many people won’t take their earthly fathers for granted… they would value seeing their fathers, and diligently do tasks assigned to them by their Fathers, how much more God who is our true Father, the Father of our spirit.
Don’t think God doesn’t see or know when He is reverenced, remember He is not a doll or an entity, but a personality. Looking back at our key scripture, we see that God heard Jesus’s prayers because of His deep reverence, you see that? God knew Jesus referenced Him, and responded accordingly. Always reverence God, honor Him. It’s a blessed thing to do these. God bless you.
Lord, I reverence you and honor you, you are a good God, thank you for being my Dad
