Don’t Be a Slave To Fear

Key Scripture

Romans 8
[15]So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Digest

Fear seems to be a very interesting part of human existence. The fear index varies for different people, depending on exposure, knowledge, etc. However, there has always been this fear of the supernatural unknown. So many people wonder if they will be in a safe place when they die, others are simply scared of demons or spiritual beings. These are legitimate fears, but Jesus has done something to settle all our fears.

Once we became believers, we received the Holy Spirit, and because of that, we know that we are Gods children, and God’s children forever, never to be plucked out of Gods hand…let’s take a look at our key scripture again. It helps us understand that Gods Spirit on our inside is proof that we are now His children, His seed, after His name, hence we being called children. Isn’t that amazing. We are no more fearful slaves, scared of our fate with God, here on earth and even after death, but Gods Spirit gives us confidence of a perfect salvation. Let’s check out another scripture.

Hebrews 2:14-15
[14]Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
[15]Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.

This just blows my mind away. We see that even our life after death has been taken care of. We should not be scared to die, but Like Paul we should see it as gain, because even in death we still gain Christ, glory to God. Don’t live your life in fear. Instead, live your life focusing on Jesus, the one who brought us the Spirit that makes us God’s children.

#pray

Thank you Lord because I am your child. I live with that confidence and I walk in boldness here on earth.
