How Important is The Word To Us?
1 Cor 2:11-13 – “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
The Word of God is the entirety of God’s thoughts and will. God has expressly communicated His ways, His character and His nature to us through the Word.
As believers, we’re spiritual -we have the spirit of God- and from our key scripture we see that the Spirit of God knows the things of God.
The Holy Spirit in us reveals to us the things that are freely given to us of God and these things are in the Word.
The Word of God is to help our communication. It’s important we speak/affirm the things we see in the Word.
I Cor 2:11&12 lets us know that we have the spirit of God who knows God and reveals spiritual things to us and then in verse 13 “…which things also we speak”!
This shows us that we should actually speak God’s word. Don’t just go over scriptures in silence. For instance, you’re reading through Matt 5:13 which says “Ye are the salt of the earth…”, you respond by saying “I am the salt of the earth, I preserve everything in my care, nothing dies in my hands because I am the salt of the earth!”. When you affirm the word, it’s like agreeing with it and giving it permission per se to make changes in your life. Speak God’s word today and always!
Thank you God because your word works and even as I speak your word I see changes in my world. Amen ❤
