Speaking Words of Faith
Matthew 9 : 24 – “Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him.
Jesus showed us something amazing in this scripture, and it is how we should address situations. The scenario is pretty familiar, Jesus was confronted by a terrible situation, just like most of us, He was with a “dead” girl, body probably cold, skin turning pale, and eyes loosing it’s color, everyone around could see it, and so could Jesus, however He did not say what He saw.
Now was the girl actually just sleeping and Jesus being an “expert physician” could tell she was only asleep, of course not, in fact if that was the case, it wont have been regarded as a miracle, but the girl was in fact dead. Jesus saw that, but refused to address the situation as such, He spoke words of faith. Something most of us can relate to happened to Jesus when He made that statement,
But the crowd laughed at him.
Some of us get discouraged from speaking words of faith when we see the reaction of those who don’t have faith, but we shouldn’t live that way, we should stand firm and keep declaring words of faith. In a previous digest, we spoke about being around friends who motivate you, being around such people will greatly help you in speaking words of hope as those friends would motivate you to do same.
After Jesus had made His statement of faith, something followed suite, an action
Matthew 9 : 25 – After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!
Many times, people scream words of faith, but end up taking no action, no prayer, no action on direction received, nothing at all, and that’s just not right, your confessions should lead you to an action. Perhaps you are sick and have been confessing your healing, then get up and walk like you are healed, or you have been confessing that your needs are met, then pray and receive direction to start a business or get work, that’s how we walk effectively in this. Keep confessing right, speak words of faith, speak the word.
Thank you Lord for your word, and it’s power. Teach me to daily confess right and walk as a child of the word
