THE BELIEVER IN CHRIST – PART OF GODS FAMILY

KEY SCRIPTURE

2 Corinthians 5:16-17 – Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

DIGEST

What happens when you become born again? Is it a change in physical appearance or a biological makeup? No! Being born again is simply a change in family; not physical family but a spiritual family. You’re born into the family of God by His Spirit. By virtue of this new birth, nobody should regard you as he or she regarded you before your salvation. This also means that the limitations which had held you back by virtue of the kind or class of family you were born into no longer have such dominion over you, hence irrespective of the failures in your family, you live above failure because you’re now in the kingdom of God and can receive direction.

It could be possible that there appeared to be a lingering curse or circumstance e.g consistent childlessness in your family, but I want you to know, the moment you receive Christ, those curses have no hold on you because you no longer walk according to the limitations of the flesh. Remember, Paul described the flesh as the old man and he said in Romans 6:6

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”

and he also said in Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

As believers we’re no longer living a life of limitations but of incredible potentials in Christ Jesus! A believer in Christ is not limited by things of the past. The bible in Psalm 16:6 says

“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places ; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”

The heritage we have is not earthly i.e. the inheritance handed down by the father to the son. The heritage is that given by God to those who believe in Christ. The bible tells us that everything works for good to those who love God. We’re very much secured in Jesus. From our eternity to our daily provision. Hallelujah, the devil has failed. When you are faced with any challenge, don’t look at it from the perspective of the fallen man i.e. from the perspective of insufficiency but look at it from the perspective of the risen man in Christ. Get up and conquer as a man in Christ has overcome the world!!!

#PRAY

Dear Lord, thank you for the endless possibilities that are in you, I am not afraid of any challenge that may come for I am an overcomer, Amen.
