He Rose So I Rose Too
Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?
For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives
Glory to Jesus, He has risen from the dead. Today is supposed to be Easter for the year 2019, and once again, Christians all over the world will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. It’s a wonderful time to reflect on what Jesus did on the cross, and what it means to us. Our entire faith as Christians is hinged on this one fact, that Jesus has risen from the dead.
In a previous digest, we explained how on the cross, Christ was a substitute for us, meaning He took our place on the cross to be punished for sin, He also took our place in hell and the grave to overcome death, and He rose again so that our Spirits can live too. If Jesus did not rise, then that means that the new life He promised for our spirits was only a lie.
John 10:10 – The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life
Jesus already promised us a rich life. He was talking about Spiritual life. Therefore His rising from the dead gives us the assurance that we also can have spiritual life, and we receive this Spiritual life when we have faith in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. This is the new life that Jesus promised.
We have experienced the ultimate substitution, our key scripture explains this. When He died, we also died with Him, our old nature was destroyed along with Christ on the cross, whenever you remember the death of Christ, you should see yourself dead with Him too, and when He rose again, you rose with Him with the same kind of life He now carries. Thank God He rose again, we have confidence in this new life. Because Jesus rose, I am sure that I have also risen and I have a new nature. Glory to Jesus.
Thank you Lord for your ressurection power at work in me. I am a new man because you rose, I am victorious in you. Amen
