The mystery of our faith. ‘Mystery’ is a really powerful word. It means a discoverable, yet hidden element, or a condition that cannot be comprehended. Basically, mysteries require some work to uncover, and here, we see Apostle Paul calling our faith a mystery. Well if you read through the key scripture carefully, you’ll notice another phrase he uses to characterize the mystery of our faith;
the mystery of the faith now revealed
It’s now revealed. It’s an important aspect of our faith that we need to note. The fact that our faith has been revealed, made clear, opened. I’ve seen some people who are believers spend hours on end searching for a mystery regarding our faith, every mystery that was ever supposed to be uncovered about God has already been revealed in Christ, so today, we are not uncovering mysteries, but we are living them.
It’s human nature to want to discover mysteries, or uncover puzzles. We always believe there is something being hidden from us, we just need to note that God is hiding nothing from us. Scripture tells us that God is light, God is opened, He is revealed. It’s a worthy point to note though that every revelation about Christ is in the word, therefore if you are searching for Christ, see Him in the word.
1 Timothy 3:16 – Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory
Further down our key scripture, our mystery is explained. And it’s simple, that Christ was on the earth, and He brought us salvation, which the world recieves by faith. It’s that simple. Some folks have tried to complicate this, but it’s just that simple.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8
[7]No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began
[8]But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord
#pray
Thank you Lord, because I know you are not a mystery, but you are light to me, teach me to always see you in the word, amen.
