The Passion of Christ

Key Scripture

John 3:16 – “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

I can imagine about 80% of all Christians have watched the movie “The Passion of Christ”. Particularly, during the period of Easter. It is an amazing movie, you may disagree, but I believe it is, however, one very important question I believe all believers should ask is: “What does the passion of Christ really mean?” Now we have a question on our hands that only the word can answer.

Our key scripture, John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” This verse simply explains that God showed His love in this manner: He sent His son to die for our sins.

Similarly Romans 5:8 says the same thing. It says, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” On this note, we can see the passion of Christ and God the father. Every human is His passion. His soul desire is that we all believe (2 Peter 3:9). His number one heart cry is for we all to be saved, to be considered holy and righteous before His eyes.

So, when next you find yourself wondering, “Does God love me?” Or you find yourself watching the “Passion of Christ” I need you to see yourself as a recipient of God’s love. Yes Christ does love you. He proved it on the cross. Yes Christ was beaten and bruised, quite sorrowful (yes) He did it for me. We, the entire body of Christ; the believers are loved whole heartedly by our father.

Father I am constantly reminded of your love for me, amen
