Peace!! A fruit of our Spirit

Key Scripture

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid』

Digest

In a world full of trials and tribulations, we as believers have something exclusive to the man in Christ, and that is peace which is independent of circumstances and situations. Jesus said “…I do not give to you as the world gives…” What the world gives is subject to change, it is dependent on what goes on in the world and it passes away. But Christ who is everlasting and never changing has given us His peace, therefore this peace is everlasting and never changing.

We do not find peace in the absence of trouble or conflict but we find peace within us because we have the Holy Spirit in us and therefore we have peace as a fruit of our born again spirits.

『 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

Peace is a part of our very nature as believers and we take from within and put upon. So even when life comes at us with its ups and downs, we are not troubled because we know the one in whom our hope is found. We know that this world with it’s trials and tribulations will pass away but the one in whom our hope is found is forever.

『 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

Hallelujah! We have peace in Christ and even in a world filled with trouble, we stay in that peace because Christ has overcome the world. Even in the midst of trouble, we remain calm, we are not disturbed, we fight from a place of victory.

#Pray

Thank you Lord for you have overcome, I understand that it’s in my nature to be peaceful, to respond to tribulations with the attitude that Christ has overcome.
