Believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit part 2
Ephesians 1:13 – ” In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,…”
In the last digest, it was established briefly how the spirit of God can’t leave us as believers because of a wrong done by us and we saw through a few scriptures how that the spirit of God is our helper. Today we are just going to buttress this point the fact that we have the spirit of God forever.
From the key scripture, the word sealed is a very important word that mustn’t be overlooked. Of course you know that when something is sealed, it can’t be opened again, and if that item needs to be opened the seal has to be broken, something has to be destroyed. We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit which we were promised. Now let’s look at how Jesus Christ spoke when he talked about the Holy Spirit’s coming….
“If you love me, obey my commandments.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
The King James Version (KJV) puts it like this (vs 16… ” …that he may abide with you forever “).
Jesus didn’t make a mistake by using the words He used… When He said forever, He actually meant forever. If you feel it shouldn’t be so, then you may just be proud and resisting the truth. The Holy Spirit in us is the proof of our salvation, and our salvation is eternal…
Hebrews 9:12 – With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.
But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet.
For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says,
“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”
And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
We see from the above scriptures how Christ gave the perfect sacrifice and as a result of that perfect sacrifice, we obtained eternal security and the witness to that is the Holy Spirit, who himself is an eternal being. So we have eternal security in Christ and this has been proven to be authentic by the Holy Spirit who is also eternal. So glory to God, you have with and in you the spirit of God, and He lives in you forever!!
Thank you Father for your spirit that lives in me. I am more conscious of Him now, and I do well to hearken more to his leading. Glory to God!!!
