Walking in wisdom
Luke 2:52 KJV
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Wisdom can simply be defined as the ability to utilize and apply knowledge and everyone needs wisdom. In our careers, academics, relationships, we need to constantly be functioning in wisdom, not just natural wisdom, but God’s own wisdom.
We see in our key scripture that Jesus increased in wisdom, meaning one can get wiser. Just like every parent wants to see their child grow, God wants us to grow, in wisdom as well.
Firstly, we should understand that we have this wisdom.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Jesus Christ was not just made righteousness for us but wisdom as well. So we see that we have this wisdom right? Having it is one thing, walking in it is another. That being said, I’m certain you’re already asking “how then do I walk in this wisdom?”
I’ve got one word for you: Meditation!
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success
God’s wisdom is encapsulated in His word and as you meditate on the word, His word sinks into your mind, you begin to do the word hence walking in God’s wisdom. Simply put, thinking on the word will lead to doing the word thus dealing wisely.
Thank you Jesus for wisdom. Help me to always walk in this wisdom even as I meditate on your word. Amen.
