When God isn’t Answering Your Prayers – Part 2

Key Scripture

1 John 5:14-15
[14]And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
[15]And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for

Our key scripture makes me smile over and over again, in it we see an assurance from God that anything we ask in Christ’s name, we will receive. Isn’t that just awesome. We know that when we pray God hears and God will answer. However, there are moments were our prayers don’t seem to get answered. We already wrote a digest on this issue, simply go through the website or the article suggestions below, and you’ll find it, but the scope of that digest doesn’t address one salient point when it comes to unanswered prayers, and that’s time.

The first part of this digest speaks on praying in line with Gods will, so when we pray in line with Gods will, our prayers get answered, however, sometimes, it takes a while between when we have prayed, and we get to see a result. Remember Daniel who prayed, and had his answers ready the moment he prayed, but it was delayed by supernatural forces…well we aren’t talking about what and what could delay answers, but Daniels story proves that answers could take a while to arrive. Our key scripture says when we pray, God hears, and we will have what we ask for…”will have” indicates a time frame that may fall in the near future.

James 5:17-18
[17]Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!
[18]Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops

Remember Elijah, when he prayed for the rain to come back, he prayed about 7 times before it finally fell. When we pray, and we await answers, our wait activity should be to keep on praying. Keep on praying till your answers come. Sometimes it’s not that your prayers have not been answered, but there’s just a time frame within which you’ll see the answer manifest.

Thank you Lord for answers to prayers, I trust in your ability, and I keep on praying because you are faithful.
