Be Patient With Everyone
1 Thessalonians 5:14 – Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone
Most of us really want to grow, and are striving to do so, while some of us really need to grow but aren’t making any efforts to do so, and that’s fine, but this is a quick reminder that today is never a bad day to start, and starting today would mean reaching your goals early. Well being a believer, you never actually stop growing, you’ll always be a student of God’s Spirit, learning from the word. You see Apostle Paul instructing Timothy to study, and for he to have given those instructions, it means that he would have also being doing the same thing. So we never stop growing Spiritually, but starting today would mean that tomorrow you’ll be a better version of who you see yourself as now, so if you have been postponing your Spiritual growth, hey, you could always begin right now.
For those who are already on that journey, renewing your mind daily, seeing yourself daily in the word, speaking to God in prayers, you can testify that it’s been amazing. Some times though along this journey, you fall short of your goals or expectations. Sometimes the best reaction to your short comings should be to be stern with yourself and make improvements in areas you are lagging, whether it’s in bible study, or in prayers, or in your conduct. However in being stern on yourself, don’t also become impatient with yourself, it’s funny how patience is a fruit of the Spirit. Don’t ever become impatient and begin forcing yourself to do things you haven’t built the capacity for yet, but take your time and grow into were you want to be.
Our key scripture makes it a but clearer, Apostle Paul warns those who are lazy, he used a very stern word, he stays warn, and I believe it’s because their laziness puts themselves and the church in a dangerous spot, they don’t move, the church won’t move, and laziness is equally contagious. For the timid folks he says to encourage them, and for the weak people he says we should take tender care of them, so we have different people with different ways to spur them on to be better people, but then he ultimately says that we should be patient with everyone. Be patient with everyone including yourself. The heights you want to reach you’ll get them. The feats you want to accomplish, you’ll accomplish them, just be patient, and you’ll do the things God has in store for you, through patience, our eyes are opened to opportunities God had laid before us. God bless you.
Thank you Lord for your Spirit in me. I am patient, I am kind, I am helped of God, amen.
