Can God be Limited?

Key Scripture

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
[9]This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.
[10]He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
[11]So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
[12]Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

God is ultimate, and His power is incomparable. Nothing can match Him, and it’s a fact that is proven throughout scripture, we have seen God do some of the most impossible things. However, there is one question that I believe most of us have, or would have had in the past, or will have, and it’s “can God’s power be limited?”. The truth is God’s power is limitless, but it’s operations can be limited, and what could limit the operations of God’s power? Well, our choices.

God has given us the power of choice, and making some choices can greatly limit His operation in our lives. Let’s take a look at our key scripture:

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
[9]This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.
[10]He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
[11]So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
[12]Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth

It was speaking about how the man of deception would come to deceive people on the earth, but verse 10 shows us a choice the people make that become their downfall. The phrase says “they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them”, they refuse! Meaning that it’s a choice that they make, and in verse 12, we see the result. Verse 11, makes it seem as if God is the one doing this, but on closer examination, you’ll discover that God didn’t do anything, they chose to believe the lies from the man of deception, so Gods hands were tied, and all He could do was watch. God desires that all people be saved (2 Peter 3:9), so we can be rest assured that He wasn’t driving anyone to the abyss, but their choice did.

Our choices are very important in allowing God’s power flow in our lives. So when we make a choice not to pray, then all sort of things happen. Do you see my point? So be deliberate about the choices you make and watch God’s power flow in your life.

#pray

Thank you Jesus for your power available for me. Teach me to always make the right choices and allow your power flow through me, amen.
