Stay With the Ministry of Christ
Acts of the Apostles 6:2 – So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program
Jesus Christ came to the earth to redeem man, and then He left us with a mandate to take the gospel around the world…another term we could use is He gave us a ministry, in order words, He made us ministers. In case you didn’t know you were a minister, check out this scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:18 – And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him
In doing Christ’s work of ministry, there would be some hindrances majorly because though the ministry is spiritual, we live in a physical world with physical challenges, and human wants and desires. One thing we must never do though is loose focus. Just like the apostle experienced, there would always be a tendency to loose focus and substitute the ministry of Jesus for something else. For something physical, even something that seems good to the natural man. We must never forget that Christ’s ministry is not in entertainment, or food, or trying to impress people, it’s about the spread of the gospel through the preaching and teaching of the word, coupled with the study of the word and prayers.
Don’t get carried away no matter what. Stay with the word and watch Christ’s ministry flourish through you.
Thank you Jesus for the ministry you have given me. Teach me to stay with it and remain focused on your work, amen.
