Be Deliberate About God’s Direction – Part 2
John 12:49 – I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.
In the first part of this digest we discussed how important it is to walk according to Gods leading. It puts us at the center of God’s will and saves us from a lot of mishap. We also need to understand that we should follow God’s leading because He is now our Father. It’s only wisdom to follow your Father, even your earthly father, majorly because of experience, and that fact that a good father would always want the best for his children. See what Jesus said about our Father:
Matthew 7:11 – So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him
So it’s clear that Gods heart toward us as our Father is good, so when He leads, we are sure that He is leading us along the right path and has our best interests placed at the center of His will. Always remember God is your Father, see what Apostle Paul said:
Romans 8:15 – So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
We are Gods children, eternally if I may add, and so we should be wise and always seek Gods direction and leading at every point in our lives. Jesus himself, while He was on the earth always ensured that He acted in accordance with Gods leading. In our key scripture, He said that He did not speak of His own leading, but as He was directed by God, He left us with an example of how we are supposed to relate with God, our Father.
Matthew 10:19 – When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time
I choose to walk in God’s wisdom and plans for my life every day I live, amen.
