How to Preach the Gospel
John 13:34 – 35
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
We all have this instruction from Jesus to preach the gospel in all parts of the world. So if you are a Christian in Africa, or in Asia or in Europe, you are supposed to preach the gospel wherever you are and ensure that many more people like yourself get to hear this gospel and become believer’s just like you.
In preaching the gospel, you’ll meet various types of people and you’ll meet different kinds of scenarios, so there really isn’t an etched in stone manual that will teach you exactly how to approach each situation, that’s why you’ll need to pray and walk in God’s boldness through His Spirit in you. God will guide you on how to speak and approach whatever scenario you find yourself.
There is however one constant that should be our navigator when preaching the gospel, and that is love. You can’t rule love out of the message, so when you preach, bare it in your heart that you are doing this out of love and be ready to show love to the people you meet as well. Gods goodness is what brings men to repentance, and people can see God’s goodness through you. Our key scripture says that our love would be evidence to the world that we are Christ’s disciples. Therefore when we exhibit God’s love, people can tell that we are Gods disciples, and His messengers…the love we show is almost like a proof to the world.
This love is not merely a thought, but it should reflect in our actions too. As we go out to tell the world about Jesus, God’s love should radiate through our actions. I know we don’t want people to come to Christ because of a good work you have done which appears like an incentive, however the good work would in most cases open them up to hear the message.
1 John 3:18-19
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.
Always show love. It’s your nature as a believer and it’s a huge factor that makes the preaching of the gospel very effective. That’s how we reach the gospel.
Galatians 6:10 – Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith
Thank you Jesus for your love in me. Teach me to always be ready to express it at all times, amen.
